Mubasher: Uber announced a new set of community guidelines, in a bid to create an environment of safe experience and mutual respect for both customers and drivers, according to the US ride-hailing giant’s press release.
“Those star ratings at the end of the trip matter; they are not just about bragging rights, amongst friends, they signal if you had an enjoyable trip and were treated with the level of respect expected within our community,” Uber said.
Drivers are assessed on the basis of a number of factors, including delivering the required assistance to riders, respectful treatment for the customer and how comfortable is the ride.
The ride-sharing company also asserted the “utmost importance” of respectful treatment for drivers, through launching a new rider quality system, which ensure the implementation of the standards of expected behaviour from its customers.
“At Uber, the company does the right thing, and this new policy is essentially about fairness, it’s bad news for bad behavior and good news for Uber’s community, everyone can enjoy a five-star ride when people respect each other’s differences,” the company said.
